Kasey Madara 200-RYT: Kasey Madara is a certified 200hr RYT yoga teacher in Vinyasa/Hatha Yoga; and holds a B.S. in Education & English from The College of New Jersey. Although Kasey has been teaching since 1990, her yoga journey began in a Mom and Baby Yoga class after her son was born, eight years ago. A recovering type-A workaholic, Kasey found that yoga brought her peace and balance—both on and off the mat! Whenever she finds something she’s passionate about, Kasey can’t wait to share what she’s learned with others. Becoming a yoga instructor herself was a natural progression; to teach what she loves. Her classes often include seniors, pregnant goddesses, those recovering from injuries/surgeries, as well as long-time practitioners. Kasey’s inclusive style and offers of modifications allows yogis of all levels and abilities to take part in the same class—feeling strong, successful, and empowered. A proponent of the philosophy that “one person can make a difference, and everyone should try,” Kasey worked with a battered and homeless women’s shelter to bring the gift of yoga to those who might not otherwise be exposed to it, leads donation classes to raise money for local families in need, and recently completed her first marathon & half marathon as part of fundraising for Avon Walk for the Cure-NYC.
